Job Title:  Social Organizer (SO)

Project Title: Strengthening food security resilience of small holder farmers by adapting climate change through multi-level approaches of District Umerkot of Sindh Province in Pakistan.

Job Purpose

The Social Organizer will primary contact person in the target area from the project team. SO will be responsible for the mobilization of the community for the project activities and seek their support and involvement in the project activities. SO will be responsible for the sharing of clear and proper relevant project information to the communities, establish Project Committees, selection of Sites and identify potential beneficiaries for project activities by actively involving targeted communities. SO will identify and verify beneficiaries with consultation of VO/CO members for Project activities. SO will assist in facilitation of training.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory (Qualifications and Experience)

  • Minimum of Bachelor level Degree from the HEC recognized National and International Universities in natural and Social Science or similar disciplines.
  •   At least 03 years’ experience of working in Social Mobilization position with the reputed National, International, Multi-National or Bilateral organizations, programmes and projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Behavior

  •  Good written and verbal communication in Sindhi and other local languages.
  • Experience working in Food Security, agriculture and Livelihoods projects/programs
  •  Possess excellent interpersonal skills; Good resource and time management skills
  • Computer literate, knowledge of MS Word and Excel required
  •  Willingness to travel frequently

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Introduce clear concept of the project and its interventions, beside this also introduce TRDP.
  • Responsible to mobilize target communities for their involvement in project activities and facilitate the community in the formation of CO, VO & ensuring their roles and responsibilities.
  • To mobilize Committees for the effective use of the community resources and process of beneficiary’s identification and final selection as per agreed criteria in approved proposal.
  • Identify and verify beneficiaries with consultation of VO/CO members for different Project activities.
  • To maintain proper record keeping of the project activities during the implementation of the project.
  • Interact and close contacts with community leaders, volunteers, and activists.
  • Share the details of CRM at field level and address the complaints of the beneficiaries.
  • To deal with the community as a front line contact and provide full support during trainings and sessions for smooth implementation of the project activities
  • To deliver the trainings and sessions in targeted communities and facilitate the gender mainstreaming in all the activities at field level.
  • To participate in project review and planning meetings and sharing learnings/gaps and feedback regularly on project activities.
  • Ensure documentation/Files at Village and Office level of all activities.
  • Maintained daily field visit diaries submit to supervisor
  • Any other task assigned by Project Manager/Field Coordinator
